| WITH A SHIRT LIKE THIS, WHO NEEDS PANTS?
all i ever talk about on this page is movies, snacks and diets. have been working so much in the last months that there's been very little of the above to discuss, hence the radio silence. but i thought i should stop by to mention that john found a way to combine my love for movies with my need to lose the extra pudding...
he is a bit of a work-out buff, if you can pardon the pun, so he's been going to different gyms in palatine during the day while i'm at the bank. he raved about this one right next to the palatine train station (literally right next to; as in, could hit it with a light underhanded toss of a wiffle ball - so, very close) because it's so fancy and great...also very expensive, which is why there aren't tons of people there...a fact that i deeply love. so we decided to check it out together on one of my days off, and guess what! not only does this place rule and like only ten members so i never have to see ANYONE at the gym - and better yet, no one from high school or just anywhere...but every machine has a tv and a dvd player. so you can pedal your way to a slimmer ass while you are watching 'tropic thunder' - which i will be doing on november 18th, when it is released on dvd and blueray.
it is like $65 a month but please. i can walk from the train after work a few days a week, don my tush-masking genderless sweats and pop in whatever movie suits my fancy. magnificent. oh nine is almost here and it is the year of love and sass, so i will be ready. today i work til two, then john will meet me down here in chaitown and we will look at invitations at this place called pulp&ink. hopefully will walk away having bought a hundred of something like this. wedding a-go-go!
| BACK LIKE I FORGOT SOMETHING.
whoops. how quickly i cease to give a crap about this page. never much to share these days? quick list update, then. rebecca is...poor. rebecca is tired. rebecca is brown on brown. rebecca is banker chic. rebecca is fiercely anti- wrinkle. rebecca is too lazy to diet this month. rebecca is getting married, wtf. rebecca is full of hope. rebecca is in between. and the constants remain as well...rebecca loves john. rebecca is on another planet most of the day. rebecca has music in her head all the time. rebecca is long-suffering. rebecca is committed to television and movies. rebecca is waiting for rescue from the suburbs.
now i can quit this page for another month and no one will be the poorer for it.
best of's right now: book: 'a long fatal love chase' - louisa may alcott song: 'do you believe in love' - huey lewis and the news / 'step by step' - the crests / 'walkin' after midnight' - patsy cline movie: 'hanover street'. or maybe 'ghost'. who even knows. that's like harrison ford ca. 1979 vs. the 1990 patrick swayze. that is a hot fight. tough to call though. will get back to you.

| WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE, WHO NEEDS FAKE CELEBRITY HUSBANDS. "i will pray that the spirit of patrick swayze would fall upon john in the gift of dance" - danielle
and that was probably one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. because there is nothing wrong with putting a little johnny castle into my johnny g to dirty up his dancing. bam!
| IT'S ONLY DOUBTS WE'RE COUNTING ON FINGERS BROKEN LONG AGO.
"the sole cause of man's unhappiness is that he does not know how to stay quietly in his room." - pascal this is probably true. because much of my happiness over the last few days has been due to staying quietly in my room and watching "dirty dancing." five times now? i cannot get over it.
i'm going to denmark on wednesday night. not sure if i mentioned that before. it'll be a quickie - arriving in the middle of thursday, leaving halfway though monday. fast, but my life could use some speed. a few good pals are getting married this weekend and i hadn't planned on going because i am poor, but missing john these last weeks has really sucked so i just splurged. the jetlag will chew me up and spit me back into the office on tuesday, so await a 'what was i thinking' post sometime therearounds. but really. it will rule. how could it not.
past your bedtime, little reb! you will be a grouch tomorrow. godnat!

| | Currently Watching Hanover Street By Harrison Ford, Lesley-Anne Down, Christopher Plummer, Alec McCowen, Richard Masur see related | NOTHING CAN BE SADDER THAN A GLASS OF WINE ALONE.
for the first time in years, or maybe my whole life, i am actually taking a diet seriously. to be fair, i had a little sliver of chocolate cake today. but to be more fair, i have been hungry for about a month (progress?) rollin' on my new jennifer grey* diet which is: piece of toast for breakfast, slim-fast shake for lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner. and desert is hip hop abs, which devotees will recall is the dvd series my mother charged on her good intentions card after some 3am infomercial. i am eating like a prisoner of war but it's working, so life is ok. i know the wedding is ten months away or something but i don't wanna hear "who tried to jam that sausage into a dress and roll it down the aisle?" so jennifer grey is my template of perfection. all the way down to her cute little kicks and shorty shorts. whatta babe.
i bought this movie on ebay based solely on reviews i read on imdb.com - which is a site i am on about eight or nine times a day. since i fuckin love movies. so it arrived this morning and i watched it tonight. have to say it might have the very best first five minutes i have ever seen in a picture. after i finished the movie i rewatched the first five because they were that good. the script was aces. one or two elements were a little contrived but that didn't take away from the movie at all - it was honestly fantastic. and this was harrison ford's first film after the success of 'a new hope' (first star wars in '77) so he was super hot in his thirties and we are all the better for it. because damn.
can't stop listening to "cry to me" by soloman burke. that is one smooth song.
*tried to find a better picture of her but no success. she was super mini in that movie. that's really the point. see you around.
